chili garlic chicken + green beans
ingredients:
2 tbsps of canola or vegetable oil
1lb of thin chicken breast, cut into strips
10 oz of fresh green beans
chili garlic sauce:
1/2 cup of low sodium soy sauce
1/2 tbsp of rice wine vinegar
2 tbsps of sambal
3-4 drops of sesame oil
3-4 drops of fish sauce
1/2 tbsp of minced garlic
1 tsp of brown sugar
1 tsp of dried chili peppers, chopped fine, optional
1/8 tsp of ginger
supplies:
small mixing bowl
wok or cast iron skillet
directions:
in a small mixing bowl, mix the ingredients for the chili garlic sauce and set aside.
heat a wok or cast iron to medium high heat. once the pan is hot, add in 1 tbsp of oil and cook the chicken. once the chicken is cooked through, remove from the pan. leaving the wok/cast iron on medium high heat, add in the remaining oil and cook the green beans until slightly charred. add the chicken back to the pan and pour in the sauce. bring to a boil, then lower the heat to a simmer. cook everything together until the sauce has thickened, about 6-8mins. serve warm.
